Location: Kisumu County (with travel within surrounding areas e.g., Kibos, Miwani, Ahero, Kisumu City)
Reports to: Farm Owner/Manager

1. Role Summary
We are seeking an energetic and results-oriented Sales and Marketing Representative to connect our farm’s high-quality poultry products with the right buyers. You will be the face of our farm, responsible for building relationships, securing bulk orders, and ensuring that our chicken (live or dressed) moves from the farm to the table efficiently.
2. Key Responsibilities
- Client Acquisition:
- Identify and prospect potential clients in Kisumu County and beyond.
- Target key markets: Hotels (e.g., Imperial, Acacia), restaurants, schools, hospitals, weddings/event caterers, and local butcheries.
- Build relationships with "brokers" (middlemen) at major markets (e.g., Kibuye, Kondele) if necessary.
- Order Management:
- Receive orders from clients and communicate daily requirements to the farm manager.
- Ensure accurate quantities and sizes (broilers vs. layers) are delivered.
- Product Promotion:
- Conduct product tastings or drop off samples to potential bulk buyers (especially for dressed chicken).
- Educate clients on the quality of our farm-fresh chicken compared to imports or frozen alternatives.
- Market Intelligence:
- Report back to the farm on competitor pricing (e.g., what are other farms in Kisumu selling a kilo for?).
- Identify new trends (e.g., demand for ready-to-cook cuts).
- Customer Retention:
- Follow up with existing clients to ensure satisfaction.
- Resolve any complaints regarding weight, freshness, or delivery.
3. Qualifications & Person Specification
- Education: Minimum KCSE certificate. A diploma in Sales or Marketing is an added advantage but not mandatory.
- Experience: Previous experience in sales (even if not in poultry) is highly preferred. Experience in the market who knows the brokers, or a former hotel steward who knows the chefs, is a huge plus.
- Skills:
- Must own a smartphone (for communication and possibly M-Pesa transactions).
- Must have excellent negotiation skills.
- Must be self-motivated and not require constant supervision.
- Must be willing to drive or ride a boda boda to reach clients in various estates.
